Eastern Medicine promotes the body to heal naturally by identifying the root of the problem not just the branch. Tamara TCM owner and operator, Tamara D. Willingham combined the symbolism of a tree with her true passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture to produce the identity of her specialized practice.
Beginning at the University of Toledo, Tamara based her undergraduate courses in science. After completing 3 years of undergraduate study, she experienced a change of heart transitioned into massage therapy. After successfully completing the required courses and board exams, Tamara became a licensed massage therapist and successfully ran her own massage practice. Voted Toledo’s best massage therapist 2 years in a row, Tamara practiced in Ohio for 8 years before selling her practice and moving to Seattle to pursue her dream of learning Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University.
Dedication and hard work flows through Tamara’s veins. She simultaneously finished her undergraduate degree in Science, her masters program, and her training with the author and 5-element acupuncturist, Lonny Jarrett. Taking up to 30 credits at one time, Tamara was able to completely immersed herself in both Eastern and Western forms of medicine.
Practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine, 5 Element Acupuncture, Balance Method, Tui Na Massage and Reflexology, Tamara has completed many strenuous and intensive courses to achieve these privileges. While at Bastyr, Tamara elected to finish her final educational requirements at the Chengdu University TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Hospital in China in an intensive course study. She completed her herbal program and returned to successfully complete her four board examinations.
A proud owner of an elite Masters degree in the Science of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, Tamara D. Willingham, L.Ac., MSAOM, Dipl. O.M. is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine practitioner in the state of Ohio.
