Yesenia DeCapua was born in Venezuela and moved to the US at the age of 16 to pursue a degree in medicine. She attended the University of Findlay and successfully earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science and Pre-Medicine as well as Nuclear Medicine Technology. In 2014, Yesenia graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio and recently passed her National and State Boards to become a fully licensed Acupuncturist with our Tamara TCM practice. Yesenia is thrilled to bring all that she is into this excellent field and healing to all her future patients.
Through her previous work experiences as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Flower Hospital for 9 years and her time spent with us here at Tamara TCM as Tamara’s assistant, Yesenia developed a solid and extensive background in acute hospital care, all aspects of nuclear medicine technology and how TCM and acupuncture can complement treatments in a more holistic approach to healing. As part of her training, Yesenia also completed a 6 week internship in Beijing, China at the Beijing Hospital of Western and Integrative Medicine where she was able to solidify her knowledge of energy medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine in a hospital setting.
Yesenia is passionate about helping people discover their true potential and helping them heal on multiple levels. She also enjoys writing, dancing, and spending time with her amazing husband and adorable dog.
