After completing my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, where I focused on health and wellness at the University of Toledo, I briefly worked as an accountability coach for weight loss. It didn’t take long for me to realize this was not my passion. I have had a lifelong interest in healing and helping people but, first I needed to heal myself. I struggled, like so many, with health issues and nothing was helping me. I tried acupuncture and was amazed at how much better I felt after my acupuncture sessions. The effects of my treatments were so miraculous and profound that within two months, I enrolled in the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. After I became licensed, I began practicing in the Columbus area until I realized, as a Toledo native, I wished to return to my hometown. I am so excited that I get to practice acupuncture here in Toledo, doing something meaningful in a place that means so much to me! While learning, receiving and practicing this medicine, I have seen unbelievable transformations in myself and in others with acupuncture. I am fascinated by the body’s innate intelligence to heal!
I love helping people feel better and I believe that when we feel better, we are more likely to move throughout the world with compassion, which gives us the skills to better deal with life’s struggles. Every day, I feel so grateful to share my knowledge and establish significant relationships between practitioner and patient, no matter how long or how brief.
Thank you, Tamara TCM for giving me this opportunity to give back to Toledo. Call the clinic and get on my schedule! I also host Tamara TCM’s group acupuncture every Wednesday morning. I love community acupuncture because I want to live in a society that has accessible and affordable health care for everyone. I love living in Toledo and I feel very lucky to be able to offer the benefits of acupuncture to my local community.
When I’m not at Tamara TCM, I’m studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, hanging out with my family, friends and my rescue girl, Luna! You might also see me most mornings in a hot yoga studio!
